Child Arrangement Order

A child-arrangement order is a court order that sets out arrangements for a child's upbringing. It can be made by either the mother or father of the child, or by someone with parental responsibility.

The order will specify who the child should live with, and how much time they should spend with each parent. It may also set out other arrangements, such as contact details, communication arrangements and financial support.

A child-arrangement order can be made on a temporary or permanent basis. It can also be made by agreement between the parties involved, without the need for a court order.

Why apply for a child arrangement order?

There are a number of reasons why you might want to get a child arrangement order in the UK. Perhaps you and the other parent have separated and you want to formalise arrangements for your child's care. Or maybe you were never married to the other parent and you now want to establish your legal rights and responsibilities towards your child.

A child arrangement order can give you clarity over what is expected of you as a parent, and can help to avoid any disputes or confusion about who is responsible for what. It can also provide financial security, as it can specify how much child maintenance the other parent will be required to pay
