Catherine White

Director Solicitor

Catherine qualified in a solicitor in 2006 after studying for her Degree in Law and German at Keele University (with a year at the University of Frankfurt) and LPC at the University of Sheffield. Since then, she has gone on to specialise in all areas of non-contentious law including residential conveyancing, and private client work including wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney, court of protections applications and advising clients on asset transfer and protection of assets.

In 2014 she entered into a joint venture with another local solicitor to set up a small, mainly conveyancing firm, which was ultimately bought by John Barkers in 2019 after 5 successful years of trading.

Since joining John Barkers, Catherine has become Head of Private Client and more recently, appointed as a Director in 2023. She is very client focused, particularly enjoying advising and guiding elderly clients in a way that is clear and understandable to all.

Catherine recently completed a STEP Diploma in Advising Elderly and Vulnerable Clients and decided to continue her studies, becoming STEP qualified in April 2024.
