Jonathan joined John Barkers in 2000 following completing a Law degree at Lancaster University and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Chester. He qualified in 2003 as a solicitor and now has approaching 20 years post qualified experience. Taking an equity stake in the business of John Barkers in 2005.
During this time he has grown both the residential conveyancing department, the commercial property department and the business acquisition and disposal team. Jonathan supports a number of farms and farming families in the region.
Jonathan is a pro-active lawyer leading a team of dynamic lawyers supporting his clients’ legal needs. He has extensive experience in the acquisition of property for development, supporting the project to the ultimate sale of individual units.
Jonathan is keenly interested in the use of modern systems to provide efficient quality legal services. Significant investment in both hardware and software allowed the firm to role out their work from home disaster plan at the start of Covid-19 with no downtime for any staff or clients – reported by the regional courts as one of the most effective in ensuring the continuation of services.
Well known in the professional community and leveraging his connections with the regional corporate banks Jonathan structured a Management Buyout of a nationally recognised business, continuing to support the management teams in its ongoing development.
